Doyle, Mary Theresa

McDonald, Angus Eugene

  • Born: 6 Dec 1834
  • Marriage: Doyle, Mary Theresa in Maynooth, Hastings County
  • Died: 29 Nov 1905
  • Buried: Pere Marquette Cemetery, Ludington, Michigan

bullet  General Notes:

Angus' sister, Catherine Theresa, married Michael Patrick Doyle, Mary's first cousin. Angus bought Lot 2, Con 15 in Herschel Township, Hastings County (98 acres) 9 Aug 1860. Angus and Mary had nine children: Josephine, James D., Agnes, Raymond J., Dominic D., Elizabeth, Olive, Angus Eugene and Donald. It is not known how many of the children were born in Canada before the family moved to Michigan. Angus brother, Elihu, moved to the lumbering area in Michigan in 1872 so it is probable that Angus and his family moved around the same time.

Angus Eugene McDonald died 24 Nov 1905 at the age of 71 and was buried in Pere Marquette Cemetery. After his death, his wife Mary moved to California to live with her daughter, Josephine. After her death in 1921, her remains were brought back to Pere Marquette.

bullet  Marriage Notes:

Angus married Mary Theresa Doyle, daughter of John O'Neill Doyle and Mary Theresa Leigh, in Maynooth, Hastings County. (Mary Theresa Doyle was born in 1842 in Liverpool, England and died in 1896 in Maynooth, Ontario.)
